About the role
The Head of Professional Services is a core member of our Senior Leadership Team - and has specific responsbility to lead our diverse professional services team, spanning IT disciplines from cloud and hybrid infrastructure to full stack software development. The team's purpose is to consult and deliver technical solutions to customers by leveraging software and technical expertise. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of projects, managing technical resources, and driving the profitability of our professional services.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the successful implementation of solutions, maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction.
- Manage risks by gathering information about business processes relevant to project delivery.
- Manage and allocate technical resources effectively to optimize productivity and project outcomes.
- Collaborate with Solutions Architects or directly with customers to understand their business needs, architect solutions, and create implementation plans.
- Drive the profitability of the professional services division through efficient management and strategic planning.
- Lead, manage, and hold accountable the members of the professional services team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
What you'll need
To be successful you'll need the following:
- A passion for Information Technology
- At least 5 years working in IT Projects Delivery environment.
- Excellent communication and ability to build relationships
- Demonstrable experience in delivering various large/complex projects to deadline, either individually or as a team.
- Curiosity, drive and attention to detail
- Basic Scripting/Automation skills – PowerShell and/or PythonPrince2 certification or similar.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience leading a team
- Work history in a Managed Service Provider or consulting firm
- Experience in designing/architecting solutions and scoping hours required to implement a designed solution.
- Knowledge in technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM, Terraform), Angular 2+, C#, .NET Core 2+, .NET Framework 4.x, Ionic 2+
